We live in a region that wears its spirituality on its sleeve. Thus, the next “Frontline” program, to be aired Tuesday night on KACV-TV, ought to get and hold our attention — as it should.
“From Jesus to Christ, Part 1” will examine the life of the man Christians are honoring in this season. Christmas honors the birth of Jesus Christ. Yes, it is far more than a time to buy gifts for family and your best friends. It is a time to reflect on the meaning of Jesus’ birth and his brief life on Earth.
The New Testament tells us of much of Jesus’ earthly life, which lasted an estimated 33 years before he was crucified. He died on the cross and was buried. Scripture tells us further that he rose from the dead, but that’s the stuff of another blog.
“Frontline” seeks to tell the story of Jesus’ arrival on Earth and how he teached the world of the God he said brought him here.
The latest “Frontline” program airs at 9:30 p.m. It’s two hours long. And with much of PBS programming, it is smart and fact-filled. “From Jesus to Christ, Part 1” seeks to trace Jesus Christ’s life and explain the context of the world where he traveled. We refer today to that place as the Holy Land because of the place Jesus has in the lives of those who believe he is the Son of God. Those believers comprise a huge majority of Panhandle residents.
Tune in Tuesday night and learn more about just why we celebrate this season.
